Very good overview! This provides value over what google alone would turn up.

It might be worth mentioning Haxe, for those with an inclination for programming. For those times one needs to dive down into actionscript coding, but can’t use the usual Flash development app (e.g. running on Linux) - Haxe is great. http://www.haxe.org/

Very nice! I am not a fan of these “lists” - if I wanted just a list of stuff, I could just easily ask GOOGLE but this is quite a bit more - a list of items with some additional information as price and open source status (always helpful) it would be nice if the author played with some of these items and gave some feedback?

I’m on the fence about using flash more extensively in my sites. I hate to have to redevelop for devices that dont support flash - or dont go past flash 7, still, that argument could be made in another way about Javascript too

try “Wix.com”. good for websites, myspace profiles, applications, etc. it’s a webtop platform but works just as well as any of these software packages. probably much easier to master as well!

This is a great list of resources. Everyone wants flash headers, etc in their websites, but noone wants to pay for it. These will be helpful the next time I build a website for someone that ‘can’t live without’ flash effects… Thanks for compiling this list!

All of these look great and I remember using AJAX Animator but once you get your hands on the adobe master suite and learn how to use it the sky is the limit. If I had to chose an alternative I would go with these three
1. AJAX Animator 2. Kool Moves for its ease of use 3. Flash Website Builder (open source)
